HEADLINE: Pianistas estrellas realizan conciertos en La Habana

LA HABANA - Un grupo de 12 pianistas estrellas que ha pasado en los ultimos anos por la "Manhattan School of Music" (MSM) de Nueva York protagonizan estos dias conciertos de lujo en La Habana y cumplen el sueno de su profesor cubano, Salomon Mikowsky, de mostrar en la isla su "obra" de cinco decadas.
La lista incluye nombres como el de la aclamada estadounidense Simonne Dinnerstein, el espanol Gustavo Diaz-Jerez, la bielorrusa Alexandra Beliakovich o la china Wenqiao Jiang, que fue la encargada de abrir el I Encuentro de Jovenes Pianistas que comenzo el 25 de mayo y cerrara el 9 de junio tras 16 conciertos unicos y un ambicioso repertorio con integrales de obras universales.
Mikowsky, reconocido como uno de los ma s importantes pedagogos de piano del mundo, convoco a algunos de los alumnos que han pasado por su estudio para concretar este proyecto artistico que tiene mucho de reencuentro personal con el pais donde nacio en 1936.
Mikowsky salio de Cuba en 1955 por una beca en la Juilliard School de Nueva York, donde reside desde entonces.
"He tenido alumnos por ma s de 50 anos, muchos de ellos se han distinguido, pero lo que yo siento es que no he compartido con mi patria el producto de mi trabajo", afirmo Mikowsky, catedra tico de la MSM desde 1969.
Al margen de los llamados "intercambios culturales" que han tenido lugar entre Estados Unidos y Cuba en los ultimos meses, el evento fue impulsado con el esfuerzo personal de Mikowsky junto a la Oficina del Historiador de La Habana que dirige Eusebio Leal.
"Ha sido una ilusion, al final de mi vida profesional, venir con ellos a Cuba, que se mezclen con la escuela pianistica cubana, que se escuchen unos a los otros y que aprendamos unos de los otros", manifesto Mikowsky.
Segun resalta, sus clases en la MSM incluyen repertorio de la isla y sus alumnos han tocado en Corea, Rusia, Ucrania o Japon piezas de cla sicos cubanos como Ignacio Cervantes y Ernesto Lecuona. De hecho, la china Jiang, de solo 15 anos, sorprendio esta semana al publico de La Habana con la interpretacion de las 40 danzas de Cervantes, considerado el autor ma s influyente del siglo XIX en Cuba.
